“ What an amazing bakery! We never heard of this bakery until we saw it on tv. They featured this bakery as the paris olympic is around the corner. We were there 30 minutes before they open. My husband and I are always looking for outstanding bakeries in San Diego. This is the best so far. We dined in and we also did some take out. ”

I am lucky to be able to get authentic croissants and other pastries within 10 minutes drive. I love their veg quiche, La Ficelle, and lemon tart. They also offer two person dinner for 35. Check the menu and call in before they get sold out. ”

“ Heard this was the best Croissant outside of France my buddy had... so had to go check it out. Unfortunately when I decided to go the lovely staff was on Im sure a well needed and deserved Vacation. A few of the photos are from then. Today, July 28 2023... however I decided to make the trek once again knowing they were open!! The place presents amazing! Quaint spot in a nice shopping center with plenty of seating for Id say about 1520 outside under cover. While waiting the staff couldnt have been more pleasant and willing to help and explain anything. Super friendly and amazing! Those two alone make it a place to stop back through and support! What I ordered First, 1 BLT Sandwich, Second, 1 Ham and Cheese croissant, Third, 3 Plain croissants and finally 4, 2 Chocolate Chip Cookies Before I get into the scores I must say this place is a must stop if you live in San Diego at least once. The drive is east, once youre off the freeway the scenery is gorgeous! Worth it! Let me start in the order in which I tried the goods! Chocolate Chip Cookie unfortunately very average 5.2 they do look amazing so Ill be sure to ask again at some point if they are fresh and Ill give it another go! Ham and Cheese croissant WOW!!! damn good! 8.3 BLT Sando The bread is the winner here but overall not gonna blow my socks off. But if I lived around the corner Id smash them consistently 7.4 And the reason for the trip the Croissant! Ive been very fortunate in life to travel quite extensively! If youre looking for one of those sweet croissants dont be shocked this is not. Buttery , Savory and a nice salt kick . Im a fan! Definitely up there for me 8.1 I will add as I stop in and try more! “ In my quest for the perfect croissant, I stopped at the French Oven, hoping to give my coworkers a boost on a busy Friday. I came away with an amazing chicken pot pie, a chicken curry croissant sandwich, a cinnamon roll, and a pretzel, as well as two fresh Croissants. The counter staff were efficient, asked great clarifying questions, and offered to heat something for me if I wished. In addition to the pastries made inhouse, TFO also carries French tinned biscuits and novelties. My coworkers gave top marks to the pot pie, the pretzel, the curry sandwiches, and I enjoyed my croissant immensely. The cinnamon roll was good, but it was up against a sourdough cinnamon roll from Texas that so far is unbeatable. The shop is quite small inside, and parking is limited. However, there are side walk tables. The staff is extremely focused on moving customers through the shop and quite cheerful. I will definitely be back to try the other pasties and possibly even dinner on a Friday night. Im still dreaming about the crust on the pot pie. ”

“ Great little neighborhood bakery. There are small tables for seating outside. Counter order and everything is fresh. We love this place! Great place to meet up with friends for a coffee and pastry. Their salads, quiche, and sandwiches are good too. Ive bought their pate, soups, and deviled eggs too. Cakes can be ordered online and they are delicious as well. On Fridays, they have weekly premade dinners to go around 40 for 2. Order online or in store before Friday. ”

“ Throughout my pregnancy, Ive been craving French pastries, and Im so happy to have found The French Oven. Their pastries are authentic French, and they have a fantastic variety and assortment. Its such a cute bakery, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Ive visited so often now that Ive tried a little bit of everything. My favorites are the Apple Tartelette, the almond croissantsboth are perfectionand the Gateau Basque, which is absolutely divine! The apricot tarts are also a musttry. Ive had the Caprese sandwich a few times as well, and its always been delicious. If youre a fan of French pastries or in the mood for a great sandwich, this place is a gem. ”
